Neighbor Brigade is a community-based organization that enables local citizens to help their neighbors in times of sudden crisis. Tubman will lend his considerable expertise in IT, operational management and finance to help guide Neighbor Brigade’s continued growth and long-term sustainability.

“I’ve been impressed by Neighbor Brigade’s deep community focus and commitment to helping people in ways that are simple yet so significant,” said Tubman. “Having experienced a brief cancer scare myself and knowing others who have had to deal with more serious illnesses than mine, I understand the invaluable comfort Neighbor Brigade can deliver. It’s about neighbors being there for one another when they need it most, and I couldn’t be more excited to help this group grow and thrive in that mission.”

Tubman and his family have long been active supporters in both their professional and personal communities. Most notably, they have dedicated countless hours to helping the Ally Foundation and the Pan Mass Challenge.

“We are so fortunate to have Richard’s support,” said Stephanie Lawrence, executive director of Neighbor Brigade. “He and his family embody the spirit of our mission in everything they do, from how they approach their business to how they support the many causes that touch their communities. Richard clearly cares about people and about having an impact in a meaningful way. I know his counsel and encouragement will help bring us a long way.”

A life-long native of Massachusetts, Tubman graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1974 and has lived in Concord for the past 28 years where he and his wife Peggy Burns raised their two children Max and Erica.
