POLL: How Walkable is Concord?

Does the city's reputation of being the 28th most walkable in Massachusetts ring true to you?

With Concord being such a lovely place to live, work and play, we want to know how walkable you think the town is.

According to WalkScore.com, Concord has a "Very Walkable" score of 80, which ranks it in the top 20 most walkable cities or towns with at least 10,000 residents in Massachusetts.

But how does it feel to you? Give your opinion by taking our poll, and watch for next Tuesday's roundup of the results.

As a whole I agree but I can't fathom why there is no sidewalk or rather a dirt walk on Hubbard street and on the east side of Sudbury road from thoreau street to the library. When it rains or snows those streets are a mess. Also we could use more light for those late evening strolls. Too dark out there in key walking places.

Yes I agree with Jodi. However tourist can walk to all the places they might like to visit. like Walden Pond is 38 min's from the Flag Pole in Concord Center. Orchard house is16 min's. North Bridge 14 min's. If you walk around town you will notice in front of many homes with sidewalks there are hedges or bushes that need to be trimed. Many places you need to walk out into the street to get by. But all in all the town pays little attention to walkers because we have become so use to driving every where. It would be nice if the town DPW would walk around our town to see what needs to be done for Walkers! Cheers! Bill Montague

It may be a lot less walkable next year. Wait until the Concord Bottle Police are scouring local stores for illegal single serve water containers. Reverend E. Raleigh Pimperton III

Excuse me - but what's the "Bottle Bill" have to do with walking in Concord? I guess you do not approve of the "Bottle Bill" so you are attempting any way you can to convice the public that there is some invisible string that only you can see! Bill Montague
