Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Expected Late Thursday

Storms could bring damaging winds, hail and localized flooding.

Central Middlesex County, including Concord, is expected to see strong to severe thunderstorms late Thursday and Thursday night, along with a localized flood threat according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to increase throughout the afternoon across interior southern New England. A few of these storms are expected to be severe.

The best chance of this weather pattern is currently expected to be between the hours of 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. and could produce strong to damaging wind gusts and hail.

Heavy rain with the stronger storms could produce localized flooding in areas with poor drainage.
