Wild Storm Barrels Through Concord

Several people captured what appeared to resemble a funnel cloud over Route 2 Monday.

Powerful thunderstorms barreled through Concord Monday, prompting a rare tornado warning.

Several people captured what appeared to resemble a funnel cloud over Route 2 in Acton. In Concord, the storm tore down trees at Concord Country Club.

There was no immediate confirmation of a tornado touching down; the National Weather Service said it issued the warning because conditions could have produced one.

NWS did say that a microburst hit neighborhood Bedford, accompanied by winds as fast as 100 mph, which downed trees and power lines.

More extreme weather is on the way, as thunderstorms were in the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday.
