Opera on a Sunday Afternoon

Alan Yost conducts members and friends of the Concord Orchestra in a benefit concert, “Opera on a Sunday Afternoon.”  The program features soloists from last spring’s performance of La Bohème by the Friends of the Performing Arts in Concord.  They are sopranos Robin Farnsley and Kim Lamoureux; mezzo-sopranos Wendy Parker and Cindy Vredeveld; tenor Ray Bauwens; and bass-baritone Michael Prichard.  They will perform favorite arias from Verdi’s Rigoletto and La Traviata, and Bizet’s Carmen and Les pêcheurs des perles.  Also on the program, Siri Smedvig will be the violin soloist in Pablo de Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy, and flutists Susan Jackson and Jan Kinmonth will be the soloists in Franz and Karl Doppler’s Rigoletto-Fantasie for two flutes and orchestra.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students.  Or become an orchestra benefactor for $50.  Benefactors are acknowledged in the program and receive preferred seating.  All proceeds support the operating expenses of the Concord Orchestra. There will be refreshments preceding the concert at 1:30.
