Giving Thanks and Giving Back

Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs supporting the Open Table of Concord.

 

The holiday season is the time for giving, and the people at are doing their part to give back to the community, and thank customers for their support.

Through the "Giving Thanks and Giving Back" program, patrons to the women's fashion retailer can make a contribution of nonperishable food items to the in exchange for a $10 discount off their next purchase.

"It's kind of a win-win," owner Lyn Evans said at the store yesterday.

Now through Nov. 23, customers can bring their donations to Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs on Main Street in exchange for their gift card.

The Open Table supper program at serves up to 200 guests per week in town.

"I'd like to see the whole store filled with food," Evans said.

Although this is the first time the store, which has been in Concord since 1992, has organized a campaign to specifically benefit the Open Table, Evans said, "We have a pretty strong outreach program.

"We're always trying to think of ways we can give back to the community."

The staff at Lyn Evans Potpourri Design is excited about the program, and is hoping for a positive response from the community.

"People pull together at this time, and think of someone else, besides themselves," said store manager Cindy Loken.

Jenny Moran said, "We’re really excited to help out in the community and hope to receive plenty of donations in the time we have left."
