Emerson Hospital Annual Appeal Reaches All-Time High

Members of the hospital’s donor community celebrated a record $1.18 million in contributions to Emerson Hospital’s Annual Appeal in support of patient programs and services at a leadership donor reception held Oct. 10 at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln.

The event, which was attended by more than 90 donors and friends of Emerson, recognized the hospital’s philanthropic achievements and honored all donors. Donations to the hospital’s Annual Appeal support the outstanding patient care delivered by Emerson’s physicians and staff.

Steve Carr, chair of Emerson’s Annual Appeal Committee, noted that many of the 2,000 donors stepped up to meet a $150,000 matching gift challenge issued by two members of the hospital’s board. Carr acknowledged and thanked his 13-member committee for making phone calls on behalf of the hospital and helping to further the campaign.

Gloria Clough, board chair of the Emerson Health Care Foundation, extended her appreciation to all hospital donors for their support, while describing the foundation’s philanthropic work. She acknowledged hospital and foundation board members whose combined donations represent a significant portion of all funds raised.

“We are grateful and humbled by the generosity of all our donors,” said Christine Schuster, president and CEO of Emerson. “It is their dedication that enables Emerson to provide high-quality care each day to those in the community who need us.”
