Emerson Hospital Named Anticoagulation Center of Excellence

The Betty Winter Anticoagulation Management Center at Emerson Hospital was recently named an Anticoagulation Center of Excellence by the Anticoagulation Forum, a multidisciplinary, nonprofit organization with a mission of improving the quality of care of patients taking antithrombotic medications.

The rigorous assessment measured Emerson against multiple key areas of patient care. In addition, the program offers a roadmap to consistent, sustainable excellence with ongoing access to a rich library of resources providing guidelines and tools to keep up with the changing field of anticoagulation.

The Anticoagulation Management Center is named for Betty Winter, a very special clinic patient for many years. Winter’s daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Neil Rasmussen of Concord, made a significant contribution in 2008 to Emerson Hospital in her name that funded the establishment of the new Center at 54 Baker Avenue in Concord.
