Lahey Spine Program at Emerson Hospital Welcomes Neurosurgeon Robert Whitmore, MD

Neurosurgeon Robert Whitmore, MD has joined the Lahey Spine Program at Emerson Hospital. Dr. Whitmore works closely with Haran Ramachandran, MD, Alexios Carayannopoulos, DO and James Spinelli, DO to manage all disorders of the cervical, lumbar spine and thoracic spine.

 

The Lahey Spine Program at Emerson Hospital is based at Emerson’s Center for Specialty Care in Concord.  The program offers broad expertise in neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, physiatry, physical therapy, interventional pain management and diagnostic radiology.

Dr. Whitmore received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his residency training in neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where he was chief resident. He completed a spine fellowship in minimally invasive spinal surgery and complex spinal instrumentation at Pennsylvania Hospital.

Dr. Whitmore’s clinical interests include all disorders of the spine, including minimally invasive surgery for degenerative disease and disc herniations. He is also available for consultation on general neurosurgery problems such as brain and spinal tumors, peripheral nerve and other issues.

 

Dr. Whitmore lives in Concord with his wife and two children.
