OBITUARY: William T. Gibson
William T. Gibson, 85, of Concord, formerly of Everett, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Barry) Gibson.
Born in Malden on October 23, 1927 he was the son of the late William T. Gibson, Sr. and Pearl (Grant) Gibson. He attended Everett public schools, graduated from Everett High School in 1945 and later graduated from Boston College.
During the Korean Conflict he served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps.
For 30 years, prior to his retirement, Mr. Gibson was employed as a truck driver and salesman for Middlesex Gases and Technology in Everett.
A Concord resident since 1963, he enjoyed hunting in New Hampshire and Maine.
Survivors include 2 sons, Thomas Gibson and Richard Gibson, 3 grandchildren, Nikolas, Chad and Sierra Gibson and his sister, Ann Charmely of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 4th at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
Funeral Saturday, October 5th from the Dee Funeral Home will be held at 9 AM followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10 AM.
Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Saturday in recognition of Mr. Gibson's service to his country in the U. S. Marine Corps.
