The Hammond Performing Arts Series Presents Arnaud Sussmann and Orion Weiss

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (March 25, 2014) - Saul Cohen, President of Hammond Residential Real Estate, with offices at 113 Thoreau Street in Concord, is pleased to announce that violinist Arnaud Sussmann and pianist Orion Weiss will perform works by Bach, Grieg, Scriabin, Ravel and Beethoven as part of the Hammond Performing Arts Series. The concert will take place on Sunday, April 6 at 3 p.m. at The Friends of the Performing Arts in Concord (FOPAC), 51 Walden Street, Concord. Admission is free.

Awarded a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2009, violinist Arnaud Sussmann is quickly establishing a reputation as a multi-faceted and compelling artist, earning the highest praise from both critics and audiences alike. He has performed as a soloist throughout the United States, Central America, Europe, and Asia, and at many renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Smithsonian Museum, and the Louvre Museum. He has performed with many of today’s leading artists, including Itzhak Perlman, Menahem Pressler, Joseph Kalichstein, Miriam Fried, Paul Neubauer, Fred Sherry, Gary Hoffman and Peter Frankl. Mr. Sussmann was born in Strasbourg, France and earned both his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from The Juilliard School. He studied with Boris Garlitsky and Itzhak Perlman, who chose him to be a Starling Fellow, an honor qualifying him as Mr. Perlman’s teaching assistant for two years.

Pianist Orion Weiss is one of the most sought-after soloists and collaborators in his generation of young American musicians. His deeply felt and exceptionally crafted performances go far beyond his technical mastery, and have won him acclaim from audiences, critics and colleagues in a wide range of repertoire and formats. In the summer of 2011, Mr. Weiss made his debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood as a last-minute replacement for Leon Fleisher. The 2013-14 season has seen Weiss perform with orchestras around North America, including the Milwaukee and Vancouver Symphonies; in the summer of 2014, he will perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In 2005, He toured Israel with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Itzhak Perlman. Mr. Weiss graduated from The Juilliard School in 2004, where he studied with Emanuel Ax.
