Five Things: A Couple of Art Openings, a Book Signing and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Feb. 7 in Concord.

1. East Meets West Opening Reception: A cross-town collaboration between Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts and ArtScape/Bradford Mill, East Meets West is an event in which the artists from one community will display their work at the other. Opening reception is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Emerson Umbrella; ArtScape will host the closing ceremony in early March.

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Concord Housing Authority at 8 a.m., the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Advisory Committee at 8 a.m., the Middle School Advisory Council at 7 p.m., the Board of Assessors at 7 p.m., the Historic Districts Commission at 7 p.m. and the Finance Committee at 7:30 p.m. 

3. Roseanne Montillo presents "The Lady and Her Monsters": Roseanne Montillo will be at The Concord Bookshop at 7 p.m. tonight to discuss and sign her book, "The Lady and Her Monsters: A Tale of Dissections, Real-Life Dr. Frankensteins and the Creation of Mary Shelley's Masterpiece."

4. JOHN LOBOSCO: The Visual Journey: At 6 p.m. tonight, Albright Art Gallery will host the opening of an exhibition featuring Boston-area artist John Lobosco.

5. Sun Today, a Chance of Snow Tonight: Should be mostly sunny today, with a high of 24, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a chance of snow tonight with a low in the mid-teens.
