Five Things: CCHS Building Committee, Cell Phones for Soldiers and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Jan. 30 in Concord.

1. CCHS Building Committee Meets Tonight: With reimbursment funds for the CCHS building project now reinstated, the the CCHS Building Committee is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. tonight at CCHS.

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include: Tax Relief Committee at 8:30 a.m., the CCHS Building/Site-Based Subcomm at 2:30 p.m. and the Public Ceremonies & Celebrations at 6 p.m.

3. Cell Phones for Soldiers Collection Drive: Through Jan. 31, the Holy Family Parish Youth Ministry and the non-profit Cell Phones for Soldiers are asking Concord residents to help troops call home by donating gently-used cellular phones. Residents can donate their phones at the specially marked boxes at the entrances to Holy Family Parish Church in Monument Square or at the Holy Family Parish Offices at 55 Church Street in West Concord.

5. Rainy and Warm: Showers are expected today, as highs soar into the mid-50s, according to the National Weathe Service, which predicts heavy rains overnight and a low of 44.
