Five Things: Valentine's Day Ceramics, Every Mother Counts and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Feb. 4 in Concord.

1. Valentine Pottery at Barefoot Books: At 4 p.m. today at Barefoot Books, children ages 5 and older can learn how to make beautiful decorated pottery pieces using heart-shaped stencils, doilies and designs. Pottery pieces, which should be ready by Feb. 14, will be discounted for participants -- ranging from $6.50 to $36.

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Alcott School Advisory Council at 5:15 p.m., the Thoreau School Adviasory Council at 6:30 p.m. and the Open Space and Recreation Plan Update Committee  at 7 p.m.

3. Old Cell Phones for Every Mother Counts: The Attias Group is collecting old cell phones for Every Mother Counts, and you can help by dropping off your unused phones at 48 Thoreau Street between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
