Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 21

A school committee workshop, an artsy open house, complimentary acupuncture and more today in Concord.

1. School Committee Workshop: Fiscal 2012 budgets, the roles and responsibilities of School Committee members and new DESE supervision and evaluation system for administrators and the superintendent are on the agenda for the Concord Public Schools and Concord-Carlisle Regional School committees, scheduled for 5 p.m. tonight at the Ripley Building.

2. Complimentary Acupuncture for Parents of Children on the Autism Spectrum: That's the offering -- for three free treatments --  from Reservoir Family Wellness to parents of children on the autism spectrum; your child must receive services at our clinic for you to qualify.

3. West Coast Swing Beginner Class: A free open house at 7 p.m. this evening at 51 Walden offers an intro to lots of lessons starting in the fall, plus a beginner lesson and dance demo by the instructors.

4. Businesses, Claim Your Listings: Are you a Lexington business looking to amp up your profile in the community? 5. Showers Maybe: Should be mostly sunny with a high of 84 and isolated showers possible after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a mostly cloudy evening with a low of 58.
