Possible Thunderstorms Trigger Hazardous Weather Outlook

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for today and tonight for eastern Massachusetts and surrounding areas.

Keep and eye on the skies for thunderstorms today.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a hazardous weather outlook for today that extends into tonight in anticipation of possibly thunderstorms. The outlook pertains to much of eastern Massachusetts, including Burlington, as well as northern Connecticut and Rhode Island.

According to the NWS, "scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening," and "locally heavy rainfall and localized flooding will be the most likely threat with these storms."

The NWS also states there is a low risk of a few storms becoming severe and producing damaging straight-line winds.
