Snow Expected Throughout Region Late Tonight

In what could be a significant snowfall, the National Weather Service is anticipating a bit of wintry weather late Thursday night into early Friday morning.

The NWS has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the majority of the state, including Concord.

"Widespread snow showers tonight are expected across Southern New England with snow accumulations of one or two inches likely," the outlook stated. "Given the recent cold weather, roads will become snow covered and slippery quickly. Snow showers may mix with rain along the south coast including Cape Cod and The Islands."

The snowfall totals are hardly a threat compared to what was on the ground by this time last year, but tonight's storm could show the first real sign of winter since .

Meanwhile, NWS is also expecting more snow throughout the weekend, with a high probability of accumulating snow on Saturday though the region. Forecasters are tracking that storm, and say a wintry mix is possible.
