A winter storm warning remains in effect for Concord until 6 p.m. tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning calls for “heavy snow” at times with total accumulation between eight and 12 inches. Snow is expected to fall throughout the morning, making for tough morning and evening commutes. The warning also states that a tenth of an inch of ice could build up on roads.
Roughly an inch of snow fell in Concord yesterday before turning to a mix of rain. Visibility on the roads was toughest during the early afternoon hours.
The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad (MBCR) has issued a statement relating that crews will be working to clear snow from the railways and salt walkways. Rail officials do urge caution, though, if you plan to take the train from Concord today.
“MBCR wants to ensure the safety of all of our passengers so we ask that you please watch your footing and hold onto the handrails when boarding and exiting the trains,” read the statement.
