The Top Chefs of Concord

The best chefs, as selected by our readers.

This week, Patch Picks takes a look at some of the best chefs in Concord, as selected by Concord Patch readers.

  • Chef Carolyn Johnson- : Johnson garnered a few different votes from Patch readers. Originally hailing from northern California, Johnson went on to graduate from Wellesley College before jumping into the culinary scene in Boston. She has worked at Chris Douglass’ New American restaurant in the South End, as well as Arrows in Ogunquit, Maine, and she served as Chef-de-Cuisine at Rialto in Harvard Square.

Patch reader Jane Manilynch describes Johnson as a chef inspired by French cuisine, but one also in tune with Italian cooking. “Not only has she created a spring menu to die for, she uses local spring ingredients such as nettles, fava beans, Concord asparagus, rhubarb, etc.  I can't wait for her summer choices,” she wrote. “The food is cooked perfectly and she lets the natural flavors of the food speak for themselves.”

  • The Kitchen Staff of : Reader Lucy Rosborough wrote that the best chefs are “definitely” at Papa Razzi. “Never fails. Always a great meal,” she said. Our favorite by far.”
  • Chef Mike Simard- : Patch site user LiseSB wrote that Vincenzo’s “is our favorite.” Always innovative with his dishes, Chef Simard focuses on regional Italian dishes and homemade pastries.
