  • What better way to cool off while also surrounding yourself with literary history? Take a dip in the water before strolling through the woods that Henry David Thoreau once called home.
  • Sharing with Lexington, this park celebrates the birth of the American Revolution and features a Battle of Lexington and Concord reenactment each Patriots Day. The 1,038 acres also provide a popular bike trail.
  • At the corner of Laws Brook Rd. and Warner St., Rideout is home to special events and everyday activities. While Rideout hosts Arbor Day and Memorial Day ceremonies, families can be found every day on the playground or kicking around a soccer ball on the athletic field.
  • Soccer and lacrosse are most prevalent here, but spectators and avid walkers alike can meander their way through the path that wraps around the perimeter.
  • Fishing is prohibited at Old Calf, but naturists flock to the land to take in the natural beauty of the open pasture and wooded riverside path. The park also boasts a boat launch.
