A Musical Portrait of Emily Dickinson

Join us for a recital of songs on texts by Massachusetts’ own Belle of Amherst, Emily Dickinson. The songs, mostly by New England composers, are woven into a script that sheds light on the life and philosophy of the reclusive poet and brings her into our midst in a very personal way. Performers are soprano Stephanie Mann, mezzo soprano Roselin Osser, and tenor Leslie Tay, with Beverly Soll at the piano.

The afternoon includes a pre-concert conversation at 1 pm with poet Claire Keyes and Soll.

Eleven American composers are represented on this program: Gloria Coates, Lee Hoiby, Isadore Freed, Robert Ward, Richard Hageman, Robert Baksa, Richard Hundley, Ernst Bacon, Jake Heggie, John Duke, and Aaron Copland.
