American Musical Theater with Richard Travers

Broadway has been the epicenter for Musical Theatre for almost 100 years.

This 3-part lecture will give an historical overview of the composers,

performers and dancers of American Musical Theater (October 23); a close look
at one of the most successful and respected Broadway composers of all time, Stephen Sondheim (October 30); and the musicals who were selected to receive
the Pulitzer Prize (November 6).

Richard Travers has been a music director and music educator for over thirty years, and has previously presented lively lectures in Carlisle on music appreciation and jazz music.

Please call 978-369-4898 to reserve your spot for these free lectures, offered in partnership with Sage Educational Services, and sponsored by the Friends of the Carlisle Council on Aging's Rose Pullara Fund, and the Friends of Gleason Public Library. The talks will be held Wednesday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. in the Library’s third floor Hollis Room.
