Vocalist Janice "D" Dompke has been performing throughout New England since her arrival in Massachusetts from Wisconsin in 1999. She was quickly absorbed into the theatre community working with several of the established theatre companies and eventually directing and teaching classes for local theaters and schools. In 2003 she became the lead vocalist with a 50's and 60's dance band from Greenfield MA performing at the Mohegan Sun Casino, opening for the Del Vikings and Roy Orbison tribute artist, Brian McCullough. Janice also performs a tribute to one of the all-time greatest performing artists, Patsy Cline, as well as other women of rock'n roll and rockabilly.
But her heart and roots are in the ballads, standards and blues that surrounded her during her formative years. As a child, she would listen to old records on a broken player that her father showed her how to operate using a sewing needle and a rolled up piece of paper. And she still sings the songs her mother taught her, not 'itsy bitsy spider', but Blues in the Night, I Only Have Eyes For You and Sentimental Journey.
