Dynamic Poets Tanya Larkin and Katie Peterson to Read at Concord Library

Listening to poetry is like having words wash over you in a lovely waterfall. You can experience this when two dynamic women, Tanya Larkin and Katie Peterson, read their poetry this Sunday, February 10, over at the Concord Free Public Library. It’s another entry in the Weekend Poetry Series and it takes place at 3 pm.

Larkin and Peterson are both poets, live in Somerville, and are at the same stage of life, yet their poems are quite different. Peterson’s are more narrative and story-like, while Larkin’s are more lyrical.

Both have been teachers – Peterson currently teaches at Tufts, while Larkin recently left teaching at  the New England Institute of Art – and both explore themes of motherhood, though neither has any children.

Peterson’s first book of poetry sold out completely; she has two more coming out in the fall and later: The Accounts and Permission. Larkin’s book, My Scarlet Ways, is available on Amazon.

Larkin also fronts the band Waves in Detroit.

Come experience these two fascinating women and their poetry this Sunday.  A book signing and reception follows the reading.
