Running for Office Workshop

Don’t Just Sit There… Run!


Have you considered running for elected office in Concord? Join Town Moderator Eric Van Loon, Selectman Elise Woodward, School Committee Member Phil Benincasa, Housing Authority Commissioner Linda Escobedo and Town Clerk Anita Tekle for a Running for Office Workshop on Thursday, November 29, 2012, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Town House Hearing Room, 22 Monument Square.

Topics to be discussed include the election cycle, campaign finance laws, running a campaign, winning and losing, and ways to get involved with appointed boards and committees.


The spring local election in Concord is set for March 19, 2013. The Town Caucus, where candidates will be nominated, is on January 28. The March ballot will include elections for Town Moderator, Selectman (2 seats), School Committee (2 seats) and Housing Authority. Now is an ideal time to explore the opportunity to serve your town as an elected official.

“Getting Elected in Concord,” a free LWVCC publication, is available at the Town Clerk’s office and online at www.lwvcc.org. Copies will be distributed at the workshop.
