Sustainable Concord Coffee: Your Solar Rooftop, Now!

The "hot" topic for ConcordCAN!'s Sustainable Concord coffee this month is solar rooftops for households. The theme of the coffee is that now is the time to act.  Great deals and tax benefits are now available for rooftop solar PV, but many will expire in 2014.
The program for this event features a great local panel, including:

  • Mike Jacobs: a Concord householder and happy solar roof top owner. Mike is an alternative energy professional with a great breadth of knowledge about both wind and solar technologies.

  • Peter Nichol: CCHS Environmental Science Teacher. He is the coordinator of an impressive student solar initiative, gathering information about Concord rooftops suitable for solar.

  • Jim Snyder-Grant: Environmental activist with “Green Acton.” Jim will inform us about  Acton's recent group solar procurement project.

This panel will provide lots of practical information about how you can do it; how you can afford it; and what benefits you will derive from it once it has been done. It will spark your thinking about why it is a good thing to do for yourself and the environment. As usual, the panel presentations will be followed by plenty of good discussion and sharing of information. The goal is building sustainable community by applying sustainability principles in all important decision-making.

Bring your mug, enjoy the local treats and join the conversation.
