Trinity Forum: Educating Girls in Rwanda (Beijing Circle)

Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord invites you to its Sunday morning Adult Forum, Trinity's adult education program, which meets weekly at 9 AM to hear speakers sharing their experiences on one of six themes — word, worship, wonder, world, witness, work—each being an important aspect connecting faith with everyday life.  Trinity's complete Forum schedule is available at http://trinityconcord.org/forum.shtml.

On Sunday, December 16, our Forum presentation focuses on the World as Deb Scarff presents a report on Trinity's Beijing Circle International Outreach to the Maranyundo Girls School in Rwanda.  Trinity Concord began supporting this school in January 2011. Deb will discuss a grant from the Episcopal Diocesan Capital Campaign to help the teachers incorporate technology at Maranyundo and to have the school be a technology resource fpr other teachers in their area.  Though the school is only five years old, it is ranked the second highest level score in the country.  Trinity's Beijing Circle will present a proposal for a Christmas present from Trinity Church to the school that has been demonstrated as an immediate need in their classes that is out of their budget, but a small sum for us.  A short slideshow from the June trip to Rwanda will wrap up the presentation.

Beijing Circles provide an opportunity for women to co-create positive action and advocacy for the well being of women and their families throughout the world.  Deborah Scarff and Burch Ford have been active Trinity's Beijing Circle work with Maranyundo Girls School in Rwanda.

Trinity's invited Forum speakers come from many walks of life and have addressed all manner of topics -- serious, mysterious, personal and world-focussed. Among our recent topics are pilgrimage, faith lost and found, histories and Biblical persons, death, dying and grieving, parenting, stewardship, education, and much more.

Childcare begins in Trinity's nursery at 9 AM; Trinity's buildings are fully accessible.  For further information on this or other programs at Trinity, please call our Parish Office, 978/369-3715, or visit us online at http://www.trinityconcord.org.
