Granite State Roller Derby Legislashers vs. Shoreline Roller Derby Salty Broads (CT)

Granite State Roller Derby’s (GSRD) travel team Legislashers will take on Salty Broads of Shoreline Roller Derby (Groton, CT) following a home team  showdown between GSRD’s Fighting Finches and DemolitionDames.

This is the final home bout for Legislashers for the 2013 season.

After the bout, fans are invited to join the skaters at Chen Yang Li (520 South Street in Bow, Concord) for an after party, where you can meet the teams and learn more about the resurgence of roller derby.

The Legislashers bout begins at 6:00 PM; home teams face off at 5:00 PM, and doors open at 4:00 PM. Off track, fans can create posters, sign up for a hula hoop competition, “Chuck a Wheel” for great prizes, meet the skaters, and enjoy other family-friendly activities.

Flat track roller derby is a fast-paced contact team sport that requires speed, strategy, and athleticism. The flat track version of the sport evolved in 2001, and has quickly grown to encompass more than 400 leagues worldwide. A roller derby bout is an entertaining and exciting event for the whole family.

Ticket prices in advance are $7.50 each, four for $25. Children under 5 are admitted free.

Advance tickets can be purchased from the league’s website at granitestaterollerderby.com, or at one of these local vendors: Spank Alley Skate and Board Shop (upstairs at 8 N. Main St., Concord), Concord Headlines (216 S. Main St., Concord), and Arnie’s Ice Cream (164 Loudon Rd., Concord). Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $10
