Romance at the Manse! Trues Stories of Love Lost and Found at the Old Manse in Concord

The Old
Manse will present a very special Valentine’s program that explores love across
time, entitled ”True Stories of Love Lost and Love Found.”

Old Manse interpreter and
program author Kristi Martin will act as narrator, and introduce a cast of
historic characters in order to explore the complexities of love lost among the
many fascinating but lesser known Manse inhabitants during the eighteenth and
nineteenth centuries. Old Manse docents will portray Phebe Emerson, Sarah
Thayer Ames, and Harriet Ripley. Kristi explains that guests to the program
“will enter into emotional experiences lived in these spaces and come away with
a sense of who the people were and what mattered to them.”

As well as experiencing history
in an informative and creative way, the guests will be able to view the
historic attic, enjoy a small buffet, and browse the Specialty Bookstore’s
shelves.
