Teen Actors' Workshop on Clowning at Emerson Umbrella

Leslie Pasternack, playwright, actor, theater artist and educator will host a 3-hour teen workshop on clowning techniques on Saturday, November 16 at Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts. This exploration into physicality and movement will allow the participants to expand awareness of the body and further understand the art of performance.

Pasternack works on the New Hampshire and Massachusetts seacoast. She holds a Ph.D. in theater history and is also a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater. Pasternack’s nine-year theater and acting teaching history at the college level has also manifested in instruction workshops in stage combat, mask performance and physical presentation.

Pasternack regularly tours her masked solo show, Clean Room, which will play at Emerson Umbrella’s Down Stage on Thursday, November 14 through Saturday, November 16. The edgy, dialogue-rich play has been the recipient of two Seacoast Spotlight awards, for Best Original Script and Best Actress.

The cost of the workshop is $45. For tickets and more information, please visit www.emersonumbrella.org or call 978.371.0820.
