Trumpet Recital & Choral Evensong, Nov 3

Trinity Episcopal Church invites you to a Prelude Recital and Choral
Evensong on Sunday, November 3 at 5 PM in the main sanctuary at 81 Elm
Street in Concord.

Trumpeter Greg Gettel and organist Robert
Barney present the Prelude Recital including works by William Boyce,
Matini, Viviani, Marten Lauridsen, Leroy Anderson and others.

Following
the recital, the Parish Choir under the direction of Robert Barney,
Trinity's music director, will sing Chorial Evensong featuring response
and psalm settings by English composers George Dyson, Philip Radcliff,
Charles Villiers Stanford and others.  The choir will also sing T.
Tertius Noble's anthem "The Souls of the Righteous."

Evensong —
the service of Evening Prayer sung by a choir — dates back to 1549 and
is still sung daily in cathedrals in England and other countries within
the Anglican Communion. For centuries, the service has inspired the
creation of music specifically for it. At Trinity Episcopal Church in
Concord, Evensong is held one Sunday each month, sung by the Trinity
Parish Choir (adults) or visiting choirs, and one choral evensong is
given annually by the Trinity Youth Choir.

This contemplative
program of music and prayer is open to all in the community.  For
further information on this or other programs at Trinity Episcopal
Church, please call Trinity's parish office, 978/369-3715 or visit http://www.trinityconcord.org.
