Cross-Country Relay to Help Marathon Bombing Victims

The second annual race stretches from ocean to ocean.

One Run for Boston is coming back. Runners in the Santa Monica-to-Boston mega-relay race will raise funds for One Fund Boston to help victims from last year's Boston Marathon bombing.

This year's run starts next to the Pacific Ocean at the Santa Monica Pier on March 16. Over the course of the next month, runners will take turns passing a baton through 14 states across the country, culminating at the Esplanade around 6 p.m. on April 13.

You'll be able to follow the relay's progress through the country on the race's official website. The race encompasses 336 stages, most of which are about 10 miles long, according to organizers.
