Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for Council on Aging Planned

Will be held Saturday, Nov. 23 at CCHS, and local seniors should sign up by Wednesday, Nov. 20.

It’ll be juniors serving seniors at a Thanksgiving luncheon planned for this Saturday at Concord-Carlisle High School.

In what has become an annual tradition, CCHS Juniors, the class of 2015, will host the annual Council on Aging Thanksgiving Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 23.

The luncheon is put on annually for local senior citizens, and is held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Parents and students get involved in hosting the luncheon, which typically features turkeys donated by members of the community and pies supplied by local businesses.

Oftentimes parents take charge in the kitchen, while students work the floor. A couple hundred local seniors typically attend to get their fill of turkey dinner and conversation.

Interested Concord seniors should call the COA at 978-318-3020 to sign up. If they need a ride to the event, seniors can sign up for transportation by calling the COA by this Wednesday, Nov. 20.
