“Over the past 30 years, Dick Connolly has raised over $4 million, which has significantly enabled the vital work at the National Children’s Research Centre,” said Joe Quinsey, chief executive officer of the Children’s Medical & Research Foundation. “We cannot thank Dick enough for his incredible support, dedication and loyalty to the cause of sick children, and we wanted his efforts to be recognized in a tangible, sustainable way. We have, therefore, chosen the most important and highly-equipped part of The National Children’s Research Centre – the Microscopy Centre, to name in his honor.”

The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation is the principal fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children's Hospital Crumlin, Dublin as well as the National Children’s Research Centre, and is dedicated to working to improve the quality of life for this and future generations of sick children.
