Peggy Brace to be Honored at Third Middlesex Democrats Honoree Breakfast

Honoree breakfast taking place at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Waltham on April 28.

The Third Middlesex Democrats will honor Peggy Brace on Saturday at their annual honoree breakfast on Saturday, April 28. The theme of this year is "Thinking Outside the Box," which Brace did when she brought to the annual Concord Town Meeting a proposal to prevent new developments and condominiums from banning outside clothes drying.

Brace, always an environmentalist, was aware that 1,000 housing units in town banned outside clothes drying. Many units are grandfathered in, but the town agreed that the outdoor clothesline should not be banned.

To drive home her point, she stretched a clothesline across the porch of her Liberty Street home and hung laundry on it. This presentation was clever, humorous and, ultimately, effective.

The breakfast will be help Saturday, April 28 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 550 Winter St., Waltham. Doors open and breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m.
