Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Opens New Building in Concord with Expanded Medical Services

The following was written by Mary Shepherd:

After two years of planning and construction, our new, state-of-the-art medical facility in Concord opened its doors on Monday, June 17, 2013.This new building is truly unique in that a team of more than one hundred staff and patients worked together using a Lean facility design process to plan their ideal medical facility. The new offices were created with a focus on how to best serve the needs of our patients while allowing staff to provide the highest level of medical care. The plans were turned over to the architect and what resulted is an innovative facility that creates an inviting and healing atmosphere for patients and staff alike.

As you enter the building, you’ll notice a beautiful, bright lobby and central check in desk. Also located on the first floor are pediatrics, laboratory, a new pharmacy with an outside walk up window and radiology (x-ray, bone density, ultrasound and MRI). On the second floor are internal medicine and behavioral health as well as a new visual services department and optical shop. Other services offered include endocrinology, nutrition, travel medicine and urogynecology. Our new location at 330 Baker Avenue also features expanded parking.

The Concord practice, which cares for more than half the residents of Concord, was originally created in the early 1980s by the union of Concord Medical Associates, a small internal medicine practice, and Hillside Pediatric. The union of these two practices, which was named Concord Hillside Medical Associates, joined Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in 2001.

Staff celebrated this tremendous accomplishment with a ribbon cutting ceremony last week. During the ribbon cutting ceremony Dr. Ron Kwon, Site Medical Director in Concord and Dr. Gene Lindsey, President and CEO of Atrius Health thanked the staff who worked on this project as well as Simpler Consulting who helped with the design process, Normandy Real Estate Partners, Erland Construction and Steffian Bradley Architects.
