Where to Volunteer to Serve Thanksgiving Dinner in Concord

Open Table, an organization providing food resources to local families and individuals, will host a Thanksgiving dinner at First Parish in Concord. CCHS juniors will serve local seniors a Thanksgiving luncheon this Saturday.

This Thanksgiving, as families and friends around Concord gather to break bread, count their blessings and enjoy turkey and all the fixins, many among them will also donate food and time to support the less fortunate and other community members.

One such example will be this Saturday, when the Concord-Carlisle High School junior class will host the annual Council on Aging Thanksgiving Luncheon at CCHS. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Class of 2015, their parents and some others will serve a turkey dinner to senior citizens from Concord and Carlisle.

And then next Thursday, Nov. 28, the local anti-hunger organization Open Table will host a sit-down Thanksgiving dinner at 5 p.m. at First Parish in Concord.

“Often this is a time for new volunteers to help out,” the Open Table website says. “Few of the regular crew will be helping that day as they will have a much needed break.”

If you’re interested in volunteering, contact Open Table at info@opentable.org.
