Your Picks for the Best Teachers in Town

Patch Picks looks at your selections for the best teachers in town.

This week's asked the question: Who are the best teachers in town?

Everyone — current students as well as long-graduated ones — has that one teacher that really stands, or stood, out as someone who impacted your life, or had a profound influence on your academic course, and we want to recognize those individuals for their efforts.

We received some great responses, so here are your picks for the best teachers in town.

  • This response came in an email from a reader, "It has been a long time since my son has been in second grade, but the best teacher he ever had was Mehrnoosh Watson, a second grade teacher at . Although my son has had many good teachers since that time, Mehrnoosh will go down as the best teacher ever, for her ability to understand and reach young children, for her sensitivity, for her instincts, for her prioritizing of what is truly important, for her uniqueness, for her ultimate wisdom. She has a perspective like no other teacher we know. Hands-down, the best."
  • Marianne Maloney said, "Mary Jenkinson, nurse is who you want tending to your child if they are ill at school. She is not only a super nurse, parent, friend and advocate for children — she truly respects and cares about wellness and rest as part of school success. Mary excels in supporting the faculty in countless ways each day and year."
  • Via Facebook, Philip Sailer said, "My son loves his new school, , thanks to [kindergarten teacher] Jane Spalding!"
