BREAKING: Maynard Man Killed in Concord Accident

An 84-year-old Maynard man was killed in an accident that occurred Wednesday, Jan. 2 in Concord.

A Maynard man has died following a motor vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday, Jan. 2 in Concord, police said.

According to a press release from the Concord Police Department, Peter Porrazzo, 84, of Maynard, was pronounced dead after being transported to Emerson Hospital after his motor vehicle crashed into a snowbank in the area of 2194 Main St. shortly before 10 a.m.

The Concord Police and Fire departments responded to a report of a car off the roadway and into a snowbank and found the vehicle locked and running, with its driver unconscious inside, according to the press release.

Officer Richard Hodgson unlocked the vehicle and removed the driver, at which point he was assisted by Officer Michael McGrath and the two men performed CPR on the driver, later identified by Porrazzo, the police report said.

The officers were assisted by paramedics from Armstrong Ambulance, who happened to be passing by and stopped to assist.

With assistance from the Concord Fire Department, Porrazzo was transported to Emerson Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the press release said.
