Police Called for Dog Locked in Hot Car in Concord

The following are excerpts from the Concord police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Mon., June 30

  • 8:55 a.m. A caller said the Citizens Bank on Main Street wasn't open. An employee said two workers are required to be present to open the bank and the second employee hadn't shown up yet.
  • 10:58 a.m. A woman said she was the victim of a Craigslist scam by paying $1,300 for an apartment rental.
  • 7:56 p.m. A caller said teenagers were acting suspicious at the Great Meadows Wildlife Refuge.
Tue., June 30
  • 10:29 a.m. A loose dog was reported on Central Street.
  • 1:43 p.m. A hit-and-run crash was reported at Welch Foods on Baker Avenue.
  • 2:48 p.m. A dead rabbit with its head missing was reported on Chestnut Street. Animal Control investigated the incident.
  • 2:53 p.m. A caller said a dog was locked in a hot car at the Harvard Vanguard pharmacy on Baker Avenue.
  • 5:18 p.m. A caller said two men were going door-to-door selling magazines.
  • 6:01 p.m. A commuter rail train was forced to stop to avoid two teenagers near the tracks around Walden Pond. Police responded to the scene but couldn't locate the teens.
