Police Log: $6,000 Cash Allegedly Stolen, Loud People at the Beach

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, July 20

8:29 a.m. – A Simon Willard Road resident called 911 to report observing someone exiting a black Scion and stealing her two newspapers.

10:49 a.m. – A White Ave resident called to complain about a dog whining at a neighbor’s house. Police spoke with the neighbor, who was reportedly dog-sitting and said he would not leave the animal outside for long periods of time.

2:26 p.m. – A woman came into the station to report about $6,000 in cash went missing from her Silver Hill Road residence over the past three weeks.

3:49 p.m. – Police responded to a report of illegal parking on Eaton Street, and offered three parking tickets.

5:41 p.m. – An officer reported issuing eight parking tickets at Concord-Carlisle High School for illegal parking by the construction area.

6:54 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Commonwealth Ave., Sean Michael Hyland, of 21 Prospect St., Ayer, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with his license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked registration and a warrant out of Westborough District Court.

7:57 p.m. – An Emerson Hospital employee reported his 18-speed bicycle was stolen from the hospital grounds.

8:56 p.m. – A Carlisle woman came into the station to report “a suspicious incident” that afternoon at Walden Pond. According to the woman, she left her wallet at the bottom of her purse when she left for a swim across the pond and returned to find it atop of her purse, though nothing appeared to be missing. The woman also said she believed the ringtone on her phone was changed.

Sunday, July 21

1:38 a.m. – Police responded to a reported disabled motor vehicle on Route 2, near the All-Town Mobil.

10:19 a.m. – A Hemlock Lane resident called to complain about illegal parking on her street. The responding officer issued one parking ticket.

5:21 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a green pickup driving erratically on Route 2, weaving in and out of lanes as it passed Emerson Hospital heading east. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

9:50 p.m. – Police responded to a report of people being loud on the White Pond beach. A mother and daughter were advised of the complaint and left the area.
