Police Log: A Baby Hawk, Loose Raccoons and Money at the Bank

Monday, Sept. 24

6:14 a.m. – A call came in from Crosby’s Mobil reporting damage to a shed by a motor vehicle sometime overnight.

6:51 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a small ladder in the roadway on Route 2 east by Crosby’s Corner, causing a traffic hazard. The responding officer reported checking the area, but finding nothing.

8:19 a.m. – An unknown caller left a message reported loose raccoons on Monument Street. The responding office found two deceased animals on the road, which were to be picked up by the Highway Division.

1:54 p.m. – A Concord man called to complain about a small red vehicle speeding on Highland Street. The operator was advised of the complaint, and stated she was not speeding.

2:53 p.m. – A Middlesex Bank employee came into the station with a $20 in a bank envelope that was found in the bank’s lobby.

2:57 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported hit-and-run accident on Newbury Court.

3:38 p.m. – A Concord man called from work to report a telephone scam he received the previous day in which he was asked to send money to pay a phone bill.

4:03 p.m. – Police responded to a 911 call reporting a baby hawk in the roadway on Barretts Mill Road, by Lowell Road. The bird was gone on arrival.

11:58 p.m. –A Main Street resident called 911 to report hearing loud noises and seeing the lights turn on and off in the apartment below hers. The responding officer reported it was the downstairs neighbor returning home, and there were no issues.
