Police Log: A Shoplifting Scare and Possible Vandalism Via Skateboard

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Nov. 9

10:01 a.m. – A Caterina Heights resident called to complain about vehicles speeding on his street and to request extra speed enforcement.

12:34 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Thoreau Street, a Watertown woman was cited for operating a motor vehicle with her license suspended.

12:55 p.m. – A Border Road resident called to report receiving a phone call claiming he had won a “Federal Grant.” The man said he did not give away any personal information, but wanted police to know about the scam.

1:08 p.m. – A motorist called 911 to report his vehicle was damaged by a golf ball while he drove on Elm Street by Crescent Road.

2:13 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported past hit-and-run to a vehicle parked in the rear of a business on Main Street in Concord Center.

9:40 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a Honda Odyssey operating erratically on Route 62 heading inbound onto Prescott Road. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

Sunday, Nov. 10

1:55 a.m. – A 911 call came in from the All-Town Mobil reporting multiple people inside the station from a silver SUV, and the clerk was concerned about possible shoplifting activity.

5:38 a.m. – Police responded to a reported audible alarm activation on Laws Brook Road. A smoke detector was located in the trash, which was identified as the source of the sound.

10:38 a.m. – Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check on a man carrying an infant on Route 2, by the Mobil Station. The responding officer located the man on Bypass Road, and he reported he was just out walking with some son to get some fresh air.

2:05 p.m. – A call came in from the Colonial Inn reporting a red Chevy Tahoe was keyed while parked in front of the Monument Square establishment.

3:48 p.m. – The owner of the UPS Store on Thoreau Street came into the station to report damage to her bulkhead door, possibly caused by skateboarding.
