Police Log: Accidents, Alarm Activations and Suspicious Activity

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 7

9:34 a.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Baker Avenue, by Route 2.

9:54 a.m. – A report of suspicious activity came in from Concord Internal Medicine on Main Street, in which a Canadian pharmacy was allegedly seeking confirmation about a prescription.

10:05 a.m. – A 911 hang-up came in from Emerson Hospital. Police confirmed there were no issues.

12:10 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Bypass Road and Route 2. Paperwork was exchanged and the vehicles left on their way.

12:35 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident that occurred behind the Cottage on Monument Square.

12:49 p.m. – A Fern Street resident called to advise of a parking and speed complaint, and requested “Slow Children” signs be put in the area.

2:31 p.m. – A traffic complaint came in about a tour bus parked in front of the Colonial Inn. The responding officer reported there was no bus parked there, and no hazards found in the area.

4:36 p.m. – A Hildreth Lane resident reported a suspicious SUV parked on her street. The responding officer reported the vehicle was gone on arrival.

11:29 p.m. – Police responded to a burglary activation at Orchard House on Lexington Road. The interior and exterior checked secure.

11:30 p.m. – A resident called to complain about a man walking down the middle of Sudbury Road near the Concord Free Public Library. Police checked the area, but the man was gone on arrival.

Tuesday, Oct. 8

3:44 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation at Verrill Farm. It was confirmed as accidental during a bread delivery.

7 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation at TD Bank on Walden Street. It was confirmed as accidental by contractors on the premises.

1:47 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle vs. bicycle accident in Monument Square. There were no injuries, and paperwork was exchanged. The vehicle’s operator was cited for failure to yield.

1:59 p.m. – A Concord Greene resident came into the station to report vandalism to his vehicle while parked in front of his apartment.

3:49 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle hit and dislodged a fire hydrant by the Thoreau Birthplace on Virginia Road. As a result, a Billerica man was cited for leaving the scene of property damage and marked lanes violation.

8:47 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated man walking on Laws Brook Road and yelling. The responding officer located the man, an Acton resident who was walking to his home on Hosmer Street.
