Police Log: Alleged Stolen Car, A Dustup on Dover Street

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 15

12:50 a.m. – A 911 caller reported a guy in a hoodie was acting suspiciously by a sliver van parked in front of Main Street’s Market and Café. The responding officer reported the van belonged to the cleaner on-scene.

2:39 a.m. – A Stow Street resident called 911 to report a group of youths outside her home were using foul language and playing loud music. The responding officer reported all was quiet at the time.

12:45 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the rotary circle on Route 2. A tow and ambulance were requested to the scene.

2:32 p.m. – A landscaper working on Copper Mine Road reported a beagle running loose in the area.

4:21 p.m. – A Concord crossing resident came into the station to report his motor vehicle was stolen from Concord Crossing.

5 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a collie running in traffic in the area of Verrill Farm.

8:32 p.m. – A DRC ranger closing the Walden Pond reported a number of cars parked on Walden Street, in a posted “No Parking” zone. Police responded the to scene, but the vehicles were gone on arrival.

10:52 p.m. – A passing motorist reported a large owl and nest in the roadway on Lowell Road, causing a traffic obstruction. The responding officer reported the nest appeared to have fallen from a nearby tree and moved it to the side of the road; there were no animals present at that time.

Tuesday, July 16

8:45 a.m. – A man from Emerson Hospital reported a possible disabled motor vehicle on Old Road to Nine Acre Corner. Police located the vehicle in a driveway nearby, and its owner had already notified AAA.

9:50 a.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious behavior by a man at Concord District Court.

11:10 a.m. – An officer reported a disabled motor vehicle in the Route 2 rotary.

1:47 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the parking lot at the New England Deaconess nursing home. The vehicle’s owner reported her vehicle was struck while parked there earlier in the day, and the suspect vehicle was caught on camera.

1:50 p.m. – A Concord man reported receiving a call from someone in Hopkinton accusing him of scratching a vehicle and punching out its headlight.

3:08 p.m. – Multiple 911 calls came in reporting a motor vehicle accident on Lexington Road, in which a vehicle struck a tree. A tow came to collect the vehicle.

5:20 p.m. – A Concord man reported his wife was involved in a verbal altercation with a man, who allegedly shoved her, near the Dover Street access road. The man involved also reported the incident, saying a woman started yelling at him and had bumped him. Both individuals involved were cited for simple assault and battery, according to the incident report.

6:03 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Lexington Road and Heywood Street.

11:12 p.m. – A Thoreau Street resident reported her ginger-colored cat went missing within the past three hours.
