Police Log: Attempted Jewelry Heist, Branch Blasts Passing Car
The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Saturday, Nov. 24
12:10 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle in the area of the Town House on Monument Square. The responding officer reported the vehicle was parked there with a flat tire.
3:20 a.m. – An employee from Crosby’s Mobil reported a visibly intoxicated man left the gas station about three minutes prior in a light blue Honda hybrid heading west on Route 2.

5:58 a.m. – A call came in from American Alarm reporting a kitchen door alarm at Debra’s Natural Gourmet on Commonwealth Avenue. The responding officer found an unsecure door there and checked the interior, finding nothing.
7:19 a.m. – An employee from the Concord Post Office walked into the station to report a black vehicle operated by a female on a cell phone failed to stop at the Stop sign on Pine Street the previous day.

10:18 a.m. – Multiple 911 calls came in reporting a tree fell on Barretts Mill Road, striking a passing vehicle. Police arrived to find the vehicle had left the area, but a large branch was leaning on power lines there.
10:55 a.m. – A passing motorist reported a vehicle on Route 2 east by Elm Street pulled over and the driver appeared to be having an issue with a child inside. Police spoke with the driver, who said her child was car sick.
1:50 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a young female driver riding up on the curb on Elm Street by Commerford Road. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
5:06 p.m. – Vassell Jewelers called to report an attempted larceny from a display case about 10 minutes earlier. According to the caller, an employee observed a woman open a case and remove a gold necklace, but said the woman put the item down and left the store when confronted. Police canvassed local businesses, but found no one matching the given description of a nicely dressed blonde woman in her 20s.
8:24 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of the Dunkin Donuts on Concord Turnpike, An Everett woman received a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Sunday, Nov. 25
2:01 a.m. – Police provided mutual aid to Lincoln, who were out with a vehicle in the area of Crosby’s Corner. CPD administered a breathalyzer, and LPD took custody of the vehicle’s owner.
3:08 a.m. – A Mallard Drive resident called to report a vehicle she was unfamiliar with was parked near her home. The vehicle was located, and reportedly belonged to a Carlisle resident visiting a girlfriend in the area.
11:05 a.m. – A Monument Street resident called to report finding a Corgi while walking around Punkatassett. Another Monument Street resident called a little later to report losing the same dog.
