Police Log: Bad Driving, Skateboarders and People Watching Parking Lots

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Aug. 23

6 a.m. – A Concord man came into the station reporting a possible telephone scam claiming to be from National Grid. According to the incident report, an Internet search indicated the call came from National Grid’s collections division, and may have been related to another property the man owns.

6:49 a.m. – A Grant Street resident called to report workers unloading equipment were causing a traffic hazard outside of his home.

8:37 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Route 2 and Walden Street. A New York woman was cited for making an unsafe lane change.

9:18 a.m. – A passing motorist reported a truck attempting to turn around on Main Street, by Wood Street after likely realizing it would be unable to pass beneath the bridge there. The truck was gone on arrival.

10:31 a.m. – A Grant Street resident reported noticing an unknown man near her property who was apparently watching the parking lot at Concord Crossing. She described him as a white man with long hair and a dog.

11:02 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a cell phone stolen from a resident at a Main Street nursing home.

11:07 a.m. – A Concord woman called to complain about juveniles skateboarding over the railroad tracks by Starbucks on Sudbury Road.

1:06 p.m. – A Cemetery Division employee reported vandalism to a stonewall near the main office at Sleepy Hollow.

7:08 p.m. – Police responded to a report of an erratic motor vehicle driving through West Concord onto Laws Brook Road. The responding officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

8:37 p.m. – A Chelmsford man reported he has, on three occasions, observed a white pickup with “Back Rack” on the rear window speeding down Lowell Road toward Barretts Mill Road around 5 to 5:15 a.m., passing him over the yellow lines all three times.

9:07 p.m. – A Simon Willard Road resident reported a blue Jeep parked by the entrance to a trail in the cul-de-sac, which she has observed there multiple times before.
