Police Log: Bicyclists Behaving Badly?

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Aug. 29

12:33 a.m. – An officer radioed in to report checking on a group out at Concord Auto on Fitchburg Turnpike. It turned out to be an employee locking up for the evening, according to the incident report.

2:32 a.m. – A Musketaquid Road resident reported hearing three gunshots coming from the area of Musterfied/Simon Willard roads. The responding officer reported all was quiet at the time.

8:01 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Lexington and Ridge roads. Two patients were transported to Emerson Hospital and a Concord man was cited for motor vehicle violations.

9:34 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a man sleeping in his car at the landfill site on Walden Street. According to the incident report, the man was on his way to visit Walden Pond but pulled off the roadway to take a rest.

10:02 a.m. – A Bedford Street resident reported past suspicious activity involving a man spotted in the brush at the edge of the property. According to the incident report, the caller claimed her dog flushed the man out of the bushes, and he fled the area on foot.

11:03 a.m. – A traffic complaint came in reporting two bicyclists who entered Monument Square from Lowell Road who were riding two-abreast and yelled at vehicles about sharing the roadway.

11:59 a.m. – A woman came into the station reporting a past hit-and-run accident that occurred while her vehicle was parked in the municipal lot off Walden Street on Friday, Aug. 23.

12:50 p.m. – A Concord Greene resident came into the station to report suspicious activity involving one of her neighbors.

7:14 p.m. – Police responded to a reported alarm activation at the TD Bank on Walden Street. It was confirmed as accidental by workers on the scene.

8:39 p.m. – A Main Street resident reported a lost chocolate Lab.
