Police Log: Black Label Larceny Leads to Arrest

Monday, June 24

7:06 a.m. – Police responded to a reported two-car collision in the area of Main and Thoreau streets. Two wreckers were requested to the scene for tows, and a Lexington man was cited for a motor vehicle violation.

11:06 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a man and woman in their early 20s stole a 750mL bottle of Johnny Walker Black from West Concord Wine and Spirits. As a result, Alex T. Payne, of 47 Warner St., Concord, was arrested on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, receiving stolen property of $250 or greater, receiving stolen property valued at less than $250 and a felony warrant from another department.

11:16 a.m. – A man reported a landscaping truck backed into his car on Main Street in Concord.

1:40 p.m. – A 911 caller reported a golden-colored dog was jumping on cars and running in the street on Plainfield Road near Powder Mill.

2:16 p.m. – A man called from Concord Health Care to report receiving harassing letters from a woman in Maine who he believed was attempting to contact his brother.

3:23 p.m. – Police responded to the West Concord Laundromat for a report of a $500 down comforter stolen from a washing machine about two hours earlier.

10:25 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the Monument Square rotary.

Tuesday, June 25

7:31 a.m. – A 911 call came in reporting a motor vehicle accident at Old Road to Nine Acre Corner and Old Marlboro Road, right in front of Emerson Hospital. One of the drivers was cited for her role in the crash.

10:19 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a dump truck parked at the corner of Lexington and Ridge roads, causing a safety concern.

12:03 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of the pump house on Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, a Maynard man was summonsed for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, uninsured motor vehicle and following too closely.

2:04 p.m. – An officer radioed in to report finding baby birds in a box at the Ripley School.

5:48 p.m. – A caller requested to speak with an officer regarding a suspicious note that his roommate left in their home on Edgewood Road.

10:38 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a small group of people getting loud behind the Thoreau Depot.

11:23 p.m. – A Shore Drive resident called to complain about a loud group of people on the country road at White Pond.
