Police Log: Brush Fire, Drunk Driving Arrest, Gunshots, Vandalized Mailboxes

The Concord Police Department supplied the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were documented in the logs.

Brush Fire
On Thursday, July 21, officials received a 911 call from , reporting a brush fire. Police car 5 an Fire Department engines 4 and 6 were dispatched to the scene where they found a mulch fire. The fire was extinguished.

Shots Reported
At 1:18 a.m. on Friday, July 22, police received a 911 call from a Border Road resident reporting multiple gunshots fired in the area of the Musketaquid Club. Police responded to the area, and found no activity at the club.

OUI Arrest
At 2:50 a.m., Sgt. Joseph B. Morahan made a traffic stop at the intersection of Concord Turnpike and Sudbury Road, resulting in the arrest of Nicholas A. Weise, 22, of FItchburg, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violations.

Vandalized Mailboxes
At 3:26 a.m. on Sunday, July 24, police received word that a number of mailboxes on Old Marlboro Road were down in the roadway. Officers responded to find mailboxes 1201 and 1315 pulled up by their posts and left in the road. As STOP sign was also found pulled out of the ground at the corner of Old Marlboro and Old Pickard roads. A notice of occurrence was filed with the Town Manager's office, and the DPW was notified about the damaged STOP sign.
